All About Dad: 4 Things to Do for Father’s Day

Father's Day

Father’s Day is just around the corner! Whether you’re celebrating your dad this weekend or spending time uplifting the father of your children, this is the perfect time to show those special men in your life how much you care. If you’re looking for something a bit more interesting than the standard dinner and a gift, we have a few ideas that can make this Father’s Day one to remember.

1. Treat him to a massage. Is is just me or has this year been the year of self-care for women? We’ve been all about saying no, putting ourselves first, and taking the time to treat ourselves whenever we can. This weekend, let’s share the self-care vibes with the dads in our life and treat them to a massage. If he’s open to it, throw in a facial, manicure, and pedicure for a real day of pampering. It may be unconventional but who can resist a day of rest and relaxation?

2. Go to beer tasting. This is the perfect Father’s Day twist on the classic wine tasting. If the dad in your life is a fan of beer, he’ll definitely enjoy a day of drinking and sampling. Check the local breweries in your city to see what kind of specials or events they may have this weekend. If nothing catches your eye, don’t be nervous to make up your own with an itinerary to hit all the local breweries and pubs for a day full of beer, food, and good times with dad.

3. Check out a local show. How many of us can say we’ve spent time indulging in our father’s or husband’s hobbies? Pay him back for years of showing up at dance recitals and competitions or countless nights of painting with a twist by joining him at a local show that’s right up his alley. Whether that’s the car show that’s in town, a live band he’s into, or an exhibit you’ve seen him eyeing, this is the perfect weekend to make it all about him.

4. Take a road trip. Father’s Day weekend is the last weekend of spring so the weather is perfect to take that road trip your dad has been talking about. Get in some family bonding time, make new memories, and have a great time by hitting the next town or few states over for the weekend. Make sure to bring your camera and create a memory book of the weekend to make the perfect Father’s Day gift next year.
