Squad Goals: Ways to Reconnect with Your Tribe

Squad Goals

Living in 2018, you’ll hear about #RELATIONSHIPGOALS because who doesn’t want a partner that
holds them down while lifting them up? You might spend every day grinding so you can reach
#CAREERGOALS because paying the bills is real. But, what about #SQUADGOALS? Every woman needs her group of friends that can laugh with her, cry with her, and grow with her. Sometimes work and relationships get in the way, but that’s no reason to separate from your tribe! If Khadijah in Living Single and Joan in Girlfriends could keep their group together, there’s no reason you can’t. Check out these ways to reconnect with your tribe!

SHOW THEM LOVE ON SOCIAL MEDIA

If you’re not sure what kind of page you and your friend are on, reaching out to them might seem a bit
awkward! Before you even think of throwing in the towel, reach out to them on social media. When it
comes to Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter, people’s pages are flooding with messages, so this type of
communication leaves no pressure. Try sending a friend that you’ve lost touch with a genuine comment and see where it takes you!

CALL THEM UP

Riing! Riing! Sometimes, all you need to do is reach out to your friends for a much needed phone call!
When life gets in the way, it’s easy for days, weeks, or even months to go by without speaking to your
friends. Instead of letting life get in the way, make a plan. While it might seem a bit “corny” or “extra”, create a callschedule. Every other week, alternate with which person has to make the phone call!

GNO – GIRLS NIGHT OUT

You and your girl tribe might not be disconnected, but you can never go wrong with a little face to face time. Talking on the phone might be easy for you and your girl tribe, but if you haven’t seen each other in a minute, a quick night out can give your squad a nice little boost. Keep it lowkey with a girls’ night out. Dinner and a night of drinks are quick ways to fall back into the groove with your friends.

GIRLS TRIP

For those who are ready to go all out in reconnecting with their friends, plan a girl’s trip! Like Queen
Latifah, Jada Pinkett Smith, Regina Hall, and Tiffany Haddish showed moviegoers in the 2017 comedy
Girls Trip, sometimes an exciting weekend in a fun city for you and your girl tribe is exactly what you need to get back on track.

If you’re feeling a little lost without your girl tribe,  don’t let that get to you. All friends go through a period where they don’t talk as often. To rekindle your friendship flame and start rebuild your bonds, follow these tips and you’ll be sure to reassemble your #SQUADGOALS!
