5 Wellness Apps for Busy Women

Wellness Apps

Boss women, busy mamas, and corporate divas, this one is for you. Although we “run the world”, the constant juggling match of careers, families, passion projects, and side hustles, can sometimes just feel like too much. It’s more than okay to take a moment, slow down, and refocus. For some of us, that means talking it out with a good friend and for others it might mean a quick mediation session to get your mind right. And while technology can be the source of some overwhelm if we’re not careful (anyone else guilty of having their email connected to their phone?), it can also be the source of relief if you know where to look. Here are 5 wellness apps to help you refocus and reset during those hectic times.

1.) Headspace

Not every situation calls for talking it out, sometimes the remedy to your frazzled mind is just some quiet time to yourself. This is where the Headspace App comes in. This is an  app that guides you through a ten minute meditation. Try using it in the morning to set the tone of your day or whenever you’re feeling the stress piling on at work. You can find this app in the App Store, and don’t worry, it’s free.

2.) Yoga Wake Up

If you’re one of those people who wakes up and is immediately filled with dread at your never-ending to do list and all the things on your plate, starting your morning with a gentle exercise may be exactly what you need to put your mind and body at ease. Yoga Wake Up is a free app that provides a quick 10-minute yoga routine combining easy positions and guided meditations. Next time you wake up ready to hit the snooze button, open this app instead and watch your mindset shift as you approach your day.

3.) Talkspace

If you’re the kind of woman that just needs to talk it out, Talkspace is the service for you. Talkspace will connect you with a certified therapist that you can text or audio/video message any time of the day for a small fee. Here you can get all of your questions answered, and feel like you have someone on your side every step of the way. This is a great alternative to therapy if your schedule or budget doesn’t allow, because it gives you instant feedback, and is significantly more affordable than an office visit.

4.) Happify

This free app is the one to try if you’re focused on improving your overall emotional health. Too often, our minds are focused on surviving instead of thriving, and when we finally get a moment to pause we’re often left wondering…are we even happy? With Happify you select the emotional area that you want to improve and get personalized expertise, tools, and guidance to help you along your way.

5.) 7 Cups of Tea

Similar to Talkspace, this app is for people who may be looking for a one time conversation instead of an ongoing thing. You can log on any time of the day and be connected to a trained individual who fits your needs. They even have support groups where you can talk about similar issues like grief, bereavement, eating disorders, and many other topics. This is a great option for those nights when something is bothering you and you just need someone to talk to.
