4 Things We’re Looking Forward to This Year

What We're Looking Forward to this Year

After a whirlwind year, we’ve all kissed 2017 goodbye! Now that we’re welcoming 2018 with open arms, it’s only right that we prepare ourselves for all the highlights. From scheduling a few vacations to making money moves, these are the things we’re looking forward to this year!

Scheduling a Trip

Once the holidays are over, going back to work often seems like a drag. High off of the vacation days and maybe even the spiked egg nog, many of us head back into the office with another break on our minds. Rather than spending the time counting down days until your next break from work, schedule a vacation! While you might be looking forward to just being away from the office, scheduling a trip is just the thing you need to break the monotony.

If you’re leaning towards a tropical vacation, the islands of Barbados, Curacao, and St. Maarten are beautiful all year round. For those willing to travel across the world, you might find yourself wanting to explore tourist attractions in countries such as France, China, or Zambia. Either way, scheduling a trip might be just what you need to help lift you out of that back-to-work slump.

 Furthering Our Careers

While 2018 is sure to be a fun year, we’re sure to make it a productive year as well! Furthering our careers is definitely one thing we’re looking forward to this year. Regardless of whether your current 9-5 is just a job and not the career you want, we can all make little steps towards the goal!

No one is telling you to quit your job and jump head first into the career of your dreams, but start making plans! Reach out to people in your field. Make a realistic timeline for you and your goals. In 2018, even if we don’t completely land in the career of our dreams, we’ll definitely solidify the plans we need to get there!

Becoming Healthier

Every single year, it seems that people make a New Year’s resolution to lose weight. That is not on our list of things to look forward to. Rather than losing weight, we’re looking forward to becoming healthier. While “losing weight” can often be seen as a goal because we dislike ourselves and the way we look, “becoming healthier” is the opposite!

This year, we’re focusing on doing the things that will show our body that we love it! We’re going to feed ourselves delicious and nutritious foods. We’re going to be active so that our bodies can get stronger. Often times when it comes to being healthier, we look at it as a solution for the present when it is the most important foundation for the future. When we’re in our 60s and 70s, it will be easier to wish we tried harder in our 20s and 30s. Instead of focusing on losing weight, we’re looking forward to becoming healthier so our 50-year old, 60-year old, and 70-year old bodies will thank us.

Saving

If you don’t know, now you know! In 2018, we’re looking forward to SAVING!  When new styles, trends, and products come out, it’s easy to spend money on miscellaneous things that we don’t need. Rather than being quick to drop $100 at Sephora, we’re coming up with a plan to save in 2018. For this New Year, decide how much money you’d like to save, and then make a plan to put it into action!

If you’d like to save $1000 by the end of the year, save around $20 a week. If you’d like to save $5000, set aside close to $100 every week. Choose an amount that is well within your means! While you might have to make some sacrifices like leaving that boot at DSW or only purchasing one of Fenty Beauty’s new lipsticks, but once you accomplish your goal, it’ll be well worth it!

Can you feel it? We can! 2018 is about to be our best year yet, and of course we’re going to say that every year! We’re putting good vibes into the atmosphere, and we’re going to back it up with planning and consistency. Let us know some of the things you’re looking forward to this year!
