Another major headline this year had people paying attention to space. Since July 1991, the people of the United States have never seen a total solar eclipse. That changed this year! In August 2017, the moon passed directly between the earth and the sun, totally blocking the sun from the earth’s view in some locations. For our ‘90s babies, this would’ve been the first they’d be able to witness in their lifetime, and we don’t expect the next one until April 2024! You can dust off those glasses in about 7 years.
