Millions of Women March Against Trump

Let’s travel back to the beginning of the year when Donald Trump was inaugurated as the 45th President of the United States. (No, that’s not the highlight). While there were many who decided to skip the event, millions of women and men took to the streets to protest the new president. While his supporters might see this as a faux pas, it’s definitely highlighting our list this year!

Throughout his campaign, President Trump made many comments that were deemed anti-women, and women all over the country decided they weren’t going to accept the behavior. From Washington, D.C., to New York City to Boston, people all over the country and the world took to the streets with signs supporting fair pay and Planned Parenthood. It is said to be the biggest single-day protest in history with over three million participants.

Another major headline this year had people paying attention to space. Since July 1991, the people of the United States have never seen a total solar eclipse. That changed this year! In August 2017, the moon passed directly between the earth and the sun, totally blocking the sun from the earth’s view in some locations. For our ‘90s babies, this would’ve been the first they’d be able to witness in their lifetime, and we don’t expect the next one until April 2024! You can dust off those glasses in about 7 years.
